Police are investigating reports that a 72-year-old taxi driver was targeted in an armed robbery in Grimsby.

A CCTV image has been released of a man police believe is connected to the robbery on Vivian Avenue at around 1.25am on Tuesday, July 19.

The taxi driver from Cleethorpes had his dark blue Ford Mondeo, mobile and cash stolen by the armed man.

He suffered injuries to his neck and stomach and attended hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as being of medium build, 5ft 8in tall, with short brown hair, a dark coloured coat and a local accent.

Anyone who can identify the man or has information about the incident are asked to call 101, quoting log number 32 of July 19.
