The Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel is looking for a new independent member to fill a four year term.

The panel is responsible for scrutinising the actions of the recently elected Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones and providing independent challenge.

The panel member would ned to be a person who either lives or works in the force area and be able to serve from September 2016 for a four year term.

The panel is made up of:

  • Three representatives from Lincolnshire County Council
  • One representative each from Boston Borough Council, City of Lincoln Council, East Lindsey District Council, North Kesteven District Council, South Holland District Council, South Kesteven District Council and West Lindsey District Council
  • Two independent co-opted members.

The commissioner is required to consult with the panel on his plans and budget for policing, as well as the level of council tax and the appointment of senior staff in the Commissioner’s Office and the Chief Constable.
