A man charged with the murder of a 28-year-old Lincoln woman was on Thursday, July 28 further remanded into custody when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court via video link.

Casey Scott, 29, is accused of killing Lenuta Ioana Haidemac, whose body was found in a flat on Drummond Road, Skegness, on Friday July 22.

Lenuta, who lived in the Monks Road area of Lincoln, but also had extended family to Boston and Skegness, was last seen after being dropped off in Drummond Road at around 10pm on Wednesday, July 20.

Romanian press reports say that Lenuta was from the town of Sânmartin in the county of Arad in western Romania. She had reportedly moved to Lincoln in 2015 and had been working as a maid.

She had two children living in Romania, one aged three and one aged 12.

Scott, of Drummond Road, Skegness, is charged with the murder of Lenuta Haidemac between July 19 and 22.

Police had launched an appeal for Lenuta after family and friends becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare. She had also missed an appointment, which those close to her said was “out of character”.

Scott spoke only to confirm his name during the four minute hearing.

He made no application for bail today and Judge Michael Heath remanded him in custody to appear back at the crown court on October 21 for a plea and case management hearing.

A provisional trial date was set down for January 23.
