Thunderstorms which could result in flash flooding are set to hit Lincolnshire over the course of Tuesday evening and Wednesday.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for heavy rain from 5pm on Tuesday, July 19, lasting until 6pm on Wednesday, July 20.

Most places will miss the worst of the weather, but many areas could see frequent outbreaks of lightning, hail and strong winds.

Forecasters have said that rainfall will vary and the extent of thunderstorms is at this stage uncertain.

However, some places could see up to 30mm in an hour and more than 50mm in a few hours.

This could lead to some flooding of homes, businesses and transport networks.

Disruption to power is also possible.
