A 15-year-old Cleethorpes boy is due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court charged with multiple offences after a dramatic rooftop stand-off with police.

Humberside Police have confirmed that the teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been charged with assault, affray, criminal damage, and two counts of assaulting a constable.

Four other people were arrested following the stand-off on Park Street in Cleethorpes.

Kevin Smith, 51, of Rutland Street, Grimsby was charged with a public order offence and was granted bail to appear at court later this month.

Two boys aged 15 and 17 were charged with a public order offence and bailed to appear at court next month.

An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace was later unconditionally released without charge.

The incident, which resulted in road closures in the surrounding area was brought to a conclusion shortly before 5pm on Wednesday, August 17.
