Two Louth men aged 21 and 37 have been arrested in connection with a fire at the former Louth FC ground, which is now being treated as arson.

The two men are currently in custody being questioned about the fire on Park Avenue.

At 3am on Monday, August 1, police received a call about a large fire at the Louth FC ground.

There were no injuries and no evacuations of nearby residents were required.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire is asked to contact us, quoting incident number 37 of August 1.
