A London drug dealer has been jailed for nine years after Lincolnshire Police officers caught him with 10 wraps of cocaine and a starter pistol.

Aaron Jones, 33, of Balnacraig Avenue, Brent, London, was convicted of four drug and firearms offences at Lincoln Crown Court on September 6.

  • Possessing with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug – cocaine
  • Possessing a firearm of length less than 30cm / 60cm
  • Possessing ammunition without a certificate,
  • Offering to supply Class A controlled drug – cocaine

Jones was the front seat passenger in a vehicle that had travelled from Watford to Boston.

Officers stopped the car after it was being driven erratically, and smelt cannabis inside.

Jones was found with 10 deal size wraps of cocaine in a tightly wrapped package in his pocket when he was searched by police.

A carrier bag containing a converted starter pistol with a blank round in the magazine was found on the back seat of the car.

Jones claimed that the item was a starter pistol that he had purchased for use during freelance personal training.

However, a forensic examination found the pistol was capable of firing with lethal force and it was deemed to be in fact a firearm.

Jones also said that he had bought the drugs for his own personal use at a party.

Judge John Pini sentenced Jones to a nine years in jail for the four offences at Lincoln Crown Court.

A confiscation order under Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 was also placed on him.
