Man lunges towards Grimsby boy after he refuses to hand over money

A 16-year-old boy who refused to hand over money has been assaulted and lunged at with what is believed to have been a knife.

The boy was walking to college when he was approached by a man at the junction of Weelsby Road and Farebrother Street in Grimsby who demanded money from him.

When he refused, the boy said that the man showed him a weapon he thought was a knife, and lunged at him.

The man then punched the boy a number of times before running off along Weelsby Road.

The victim described the man as being aged between 20 and 30, with a slim/skinny build, and around 6ft tall.

The man had dark long stubble under the chin but was clean shaven on his face and spoke with a local accent.

He was wearing light grey towelling type track suit bottoms and a hooded top worn with the hood up.
