A convicted murderer who absconded from a Lincolnshire prison has been found and arrested by police.

As previously reported, Stuart Brownhill, 59, was found to be absent at the 5am roll call at HM Prison North Sea Camp near Boston on Friday, September 16.

However, he was found and subsequently arrested on Saturday morning.

Brownhill was in prison for the murder of Lynne Taylor who he met on a night out.

He set fire to her house while her 11-year-old son slept in their home in Werneth, Oldham, in 1984.

Brownhill was jailed for life at Manchester Crown Court in 1985.

He admitted he had strangled her after trying to rape her and that he knew the boy was asleep in the property when he started the fire.
