Boy band Union J have also been announced as the headline act for this year’s Lincoln Pride event.

The parade route will start near City Square and will follow pedestrianised streets, finally ending at the location of the main stage on the Brayford, giving everyone a chance to take their places to see the whole day of free entertainment available.

Among others in the lineup of performers is Lloyd Daniels, who is most famous for his TV appearances and starring role in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Other artists in the lineup include Sam Solace, Jason Prince, Stacey Jackson and Lee Lambert.

A representative from Lincoln Pride UK said: “We wanted to make sure that 2016 was the biggest Lincoln Pride yet, and the parade along with our new location on the Brayford will make that a reality.

“We’ve worked hard and spoken to the Highways Agency at length to ensure that there’ll be as little disruption as possible to local residents, but that the parade will be central enough that anyone wants to view it will be able to.”
