A woman has been treated for facial injuries after being assaulted by a man for refusing to let him into a pub in Grimsby.

The incident on Freeman Street happened between 1.50am and 2am on Tuesday, October 18, when the man is said to have knocked on the door of the pub and demanded to be let in.

The man then assaulted the woman who refused to let him into the pub, before joining a man and woman, and flagging down a taxi.

He is described as white, slim, aged 20 to 25 and wearing a light coloured top and trainers, with dark bottoms.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident – particularly the taxi driver who picked up the offender and his companions.
