Health colleagues have paid tribute to a well-known executive Lincoln GP who has sadly died.

Doctor Shahid Ansari, who worked as a senior partner at Cliff House Medical Practice on Burton Road, passed away in hospital during the early hours of Friday, October 28, aged 64.

NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group announced the death of Dr Ansari, who was an executive GP at the CCG, this evening.

Sarah Newton, chief operating officer at Lincolnshire West CCG, said: “We are extremely sad and shocked to announce the death of Dr Ansari.

“He worked hard and was dedicated to his job as a GP and played an instrumental role as member of the CCG’s Governing Body. Our thoughts are with his family.

“We are committed to supporting Cliff House Medical Practice at this sad time, and ensuring patients continue to have access to good quality, local GP led health services.”

Dr Ansari had been a GP in Lincoln since 1992 after training in both Newcastle and Carlisle.
