£35k diamond rings and necklace stolen from Gainsborough jewellers

A man has been arrested after five diamond rings and a diamond necklace have been stolen from a jewellers in Gainsborough.

The theft took place at the Stanley Hunt Jewellers in Marshalls Yard between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Friday, November 18, the same night that the Christmas lights were switched on.

The white diamond necklace stolen is worth £16,000. Items taken in total are believed to be worth in the region of £35,000.

Officers arrested a man in connection with the incident, before bailing him pending further enquiries.

Lincolnshire Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the store and saw someone acting suspiciously.

People who have been offered diamond jewellery for sale should also get in touch with the force.
