Plans for a new visitor attraction on the Humber Bridge will have to be modified after being rejected by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The original plans submitted by The Humber Bridge Board included the construction of a new hotel, visitor centre and glass lift experience which would have created more than 400 jobs had it been approved.

The planning committee voted against the proposals because of concerns over a 60,000 sq. ft. office block that would also have been included in the construction.

The Humber Bridge Board has been trying to put plans in place for a new visitor centre and attraction for the last 20 years.

Despite the initial rejection, the board plan to continue forward with its plans for the new hotel, visitor centre, glass lift experience and office complex.
