A Lincoln university student has sadly died following a crash on the B1359 in Lincolnshire.

Police have confirmed that the young woman who was killed in the crash earlier this week was 21-year-old Bishop Grosseteste student, Alexandra Hills.

As previously reported, Alexandra’s car crashed into a ditch on the B1359 near Gedney at around 8.30am on Monday, October 31.

No one else was injured in the collision.

Alexandra was originally from Holbeach but lived in Lincoln while studying at Bishop Grosseteste University.

In a tribute, her family said: “Our daughter was tragically taken from us too soon.

She was one in a million.

“We wish to express our thanks to those that helped.”

Professor Jayne Mitchell, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Bishop Grosseteste University said: “It was with great sadness we learned the news that Alexandra Hills, who was studying at BGU, passed away in a road accident on Monday, October 31.

“We are offering support to members of the university community who have been affected by this tragic event.

“Our thoughts are with Alexandra’s family at this very difficult time.”
