Hundreds turned out to the annual Lincoln Christmas lights switch-on ceremonies at High Street and St Marks Shopping Centre.

Crowds started the countdown to Christmas and welcomed the beginning of late night shopping with the popular event.

The lights on the High Street were turned on by special guests Lincoln Paralympian Sophie Wells and TV personality and local panto star Kerry Katona on Thursday, November 17.

There were also performances from the Salvation Army Band and a visit from Santa Claus and his elves, CBBC presenter Christopher Johnson and stars from the New Theatre Royal pantomime Cinderella and Drill Hall pantomime Beauty and the Beast.

At St Marks, visitors were entertained by the cast Beauty and the Beast and Almost Olly, an Olly Murs tribute act.
