Police have been called to Lincoln City Hall, where a suspicious package has been left in the building.

The incident happened at around 2.20pm on Monday, November 28.

Staff and members of the public have been evacuated from the building until it is safe to return.

Police have closed Orchard Street, West Parade and Newland and are advising people to avoid the area if possible.

The City of Lincoln Council has said City Hall will be closed for the remainder of the day.
