Three men from County Durham have been charged with hare coursing offences near Louth.

As previously reported, Kenny Beal, 36, of William Street, Auckland Park, Shaun Vickers 50, of Blythe Avenue, St Helen Auckland, and a 17-year-old from County Durham were arrested at South Cockerington on September 4.

Three dogs, which were found with the men when arrested, were seized.

The dogs were cared for at kennels and an application was made for the forfeiture/re-homing of them.

This came after the first weekend of Lincolnshire Police’s Operation Galileo enforcement campaign, which aims to combat hare coursing countywide.

On November 13, all three men were charged with the offence of hunting a wild mammal with dogs.

They will appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on December 15.
