A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and criminal damage following an incident in the centre of Grimsby.

Humberside Police are searching for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 8.30pm and 9pm on Friday, December 23, in Old Market Place.

A man is said to have assaulted the victim, pushing him against the shutters of a nearby building.

The victim fell to the floor and it is claimed his attacker then went through his pockets.

The 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been bailed to a date in January, pending further enquiries.
