The A1 at Grantham will be closed at night over six weeks for drainage work.

Highways England will carry out the work starting on February 6 between the A52 junction at Barrowby and the A607 Harlaxton turn off.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am from February 6 to March 3.

The A1 southbound will be shut from 8pm to 6am between March 6 and 17.

Slip roads will also be closed as part of the repairs and diversions will be signposted nearer the time.

There will be further works on the A1 after March 17 which will be carried out under lane closures only.

A Highways England spokesperson said: “As part of our continued investment in the strategic road network we will be carrying out essential drainage maintenance work on the A1 north and southbound between the A52 Barrowby junction and A607 at Harlaxton.

“Safety is our top priority so we will need to manage traffic while the work takes place and we appreciate motorists’ patience.”
