A lorry driver from Spain has been charged with driving without due care and attention following a crash on the A17 which left an elderly man seriously injured.

Ionita Bran, 43, will appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on the morning of Tuesday, January 17, in connection with the crash at the Peppermint junction near Holbeach.

Four people were injured in the crash which happened at 11.30am on Monday, January 16.

A man in his 70s was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

Police have said that the other injuries sustained were minor.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to Lincolnshire Police should call 101, quoting incident reference number 140 of January 16.
