Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that a number of pigs have been slaughtered after a lorry overturned on the A16 this morning.

As previously reported, officers partially closed the road at Cowbit just south of Spalding following the crash.

Around 180 pigs were believed to have been inside the lorry and some 20 of those have had to be put down.

Drivers should continue to expect some disruption on the road caused by the high winds.
