A burst water main has left a number of homes without water in Lincolnshire this morning.

Temporary traffic lights are being put in place on the A631 at Ludford, near Market Rasen, following a four-inch burst water main at the junction with the B1225.

Anglian Water engineers are heading to the site to start work on fixing the leak.

Residents affected by the burst main should have water restored by the end of the day.

Police were also called to a crash on the road after a Skoda slid on the water and crashed.

Luckily, there were no serious injuries.

A spokesperson from Anglian Water said: “We are currently tending to a burst on a small four-inch water main on the junction of the B1225 Caistor High Street and the A631 Ludford Road.

“The B1225 is unaffected, but there is some escaped water on the A631 so we would urge drivers to take care there.

“As soon as traffic lights are in position we will be able to start the repair.

“A handful of customers will be without water during this time, and we are sorry for any disruption caused, but we hope to have things back to normal within the day.”
