Tributes have been paid to a Scunthorpe dad killed in a motorbike crash.

Steven Gilleard, 37, died at the scene of the crash when his green Kawasaki motorbike left the road on Holme Lane, Bottesford, on Wednesday, February 22.

Close friends and members of the biker community in Scunthorpe have been leaving their tributes to ‘Gilly’ over the last few days.

Duncan Green said: “Some people you can’t help but like and get on with straight away, Gilly was one of those people.

“I didn’t know him well by any means, but we had a few rides, a few beers and quite a few laughs.

“A man who could laugh at himself as many of his photo posts have shown as well as the love of his daughter and family.

“Gilly you will be sorely missed by us all at Scunthorpe Bikers Club.

“I can only hope that those close to him of family and friends can take solace from knowing how Gilly has touched the lives of many.”

Roger Danby added: “Just heard about this tragedy. So sad.

“A nice lad who was full of life and loved his motorcycle and adored his family.”

Michael Taurone simply put: “Ride free Gilly, thanks for everything you brought to our lives.”
