Special Lincoln City loco to take fans to historic Arsenal match this weekend

Virgin Trains is to put on a extra rail service for Lincoln City football fans travelling to London for the FA Cup quarter final tie with Arsenal on Saturday, March 8.

The 9,000 tickets allocated for Lincoln fans have now sold out for the match, which takes place on Saturday, March 11 from 5.30pm.

In order to help shuttle Imp supporters to the game, Virgin Trains will run an extra service from Lincoln at 11.16am, returning at 9.20pm from Kings Cross.

The usual 9.30am service from Lincoln and 6.08pm from London will also be available to catch.

Natasha Wilding, General Manager for the central region for Virgin Trains on the east coast said: “We are pleased to be putting on additional services for the Lincoln City fans and to be able to participate in a once in a lifetime day for them.

“We wish the Lincoln City football team the best of luck.”

Lincoln’s match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium will be the biggest game in the Imps’ history.
