A third elderly resident in Gainsborough has reported an aggravated burglary in the area.

The latest incident happened at around 8.20pm on Monday, March 20, at a property in South Street, Morton.

Police have said that the offender forced his way into the house of a 78-year-old woman before making aggressive threats and stealing her purse containing £140.

The victim was not hurt but was shaken by the incident.

Following this, police located and arrested a man in the local area, in connection with this offence and aggravated burglaries in Ropery Street and Portland Terrace.

The suspect remains in police custody.
