A man, who was charged by police for a robbery and stabbing in the city is to appear at Lincoln Crown Court next month.

As previously reported, an elderly lady was visiting Barclays Bank on Crusader Road at around 12.15pm on Tuesday, April 11 when she was attacked by the armed robber.

After jumping to the aid of the elderly woman and to detain the suspect, one man was stabbed in the hand with a knife and taken to hospital for treatment.

Scott Overton, 42, of no fixed address was charged with robbery, wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place following the incident.

Overton will be seen at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, May 15.
