A car owner has found her Audi A3 ‘hidden’ in an oilseed rape field in Brattleby after being stolen from her home on Monday evening.

Chloe Fieldsend, 27, found her car after a farmer called her to tell her it had been found hidden under oilseed rape in his field.

It is believed the car was stolen between midnight on May 22 and 7.45am on May 23 from her home in Aisthorpe.

Chloe posted on Facebook: “So this morning [May 23] I went outside to find my car had been stolen, in the middle of the night from my house.

“After calls to the police and my insurance company, a kind farmer later informed us that he had found my car in the middle of a rape field!

“The police said people are stealing cars, hiding them in fields to be sure there are no trackers attached then towing them away a couple of days later.

“Let’s hope the horrible thief left their DNA and will be caught. Makes me feel sick they have even been in my car touching my stuff.”

A spokesperson from Lincolnshire Police said: “The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the old stables in Aisthorpe between midnight and 7.45am on the 22nd.

“The vehicle was found just north of Brattleby village. We are still investigating, it was a one off.”
