Experienced superintendent appointed Lincolnshire Police Assistant Chief Constable

Lincolnshire Police have appointed Craig Naylor as new Assistant Chief Constable.

Craig currently serves as Chief Superintendent in Police Scotland and will be the permanent replacement for Assistant Chief Constable Peter Davies who retired in 2016.

The post had been filled by Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Gibson who had been Temporary Assistant Chief Constable since March 2016.

Craig, who is married with three children, has served in the police for 28 years and is expected to take up the role next month.

As Chief Superintendent, he is currently the head of Specialist Services within Operational Support Division of Police Scotland.

Prior to this he was head of Organisational Development and Corporate Governance, including Strategic Planning, Performance, Governance and all change programme management.

During his career Craig has worked in a number of roles across the former Lothian and Borders Police and the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency.

A significant amount of his career has been spent in the Criminal Investigation Department including intelligence, major crime and public protection at Detective Superintendent level.

Craig was responsible for the Professional Standards and Counter Corruption Department of Lothian and Borders Police prior to returning to uniform duties as the Deputy Commander for the City of Edinburgh Policing Division, before temporarily holding the role as divisional Commander preceding the implementation of the Police Scotland structure.

Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable Bill Skelly said: “I am pleased Craig is joining the team. He is an officer of a very high calibre and he will bring a huge amount of experience and expertise in developing a way forward for the force.”
