Teenage showjumping star Holly Truelove will be representing Great Britain at the Opglabbeek Nations Cups in Belgium this week.

Holly, 13, from Worlaby near Brigg, has been selected as one of six riders in the children’s section of the British Showjumping Team NAF Youth Squads.

She is sponsored by Lincoln-based building firm Truelove Property & Construction, and director Barrie Truelove owns her horse, an 11 year-old chestnut mare called Golly Girl.

The Children, Junior and Young Rider Nations Cups competitions all take place on Friday, May 12 and the Children’s Grand Prix will be decided on Saturday, May 13.

Holly said: “When I found out I’d been selected I was super excited – I actually screamed!

“I can’t wait to set off and get jumping. I know I’ll be nervous on the day but I’m really looking forward to it.

“After three weeks in Spain having good jumps at 1.30m with Golly Girl I feel that we’re both ready for this next step up. I’m hoping to jump clear rounds and that’s what it’s all about when it comes to the Nations Cup.”
