A packed programme of events will bring a host of colourful and musical performances to shoppers on Lincoln High Street for this year’s Lincoln Children’s Festival.

The festival takes place between July 3-6. As well as youngsters from nearly 20 different schools entertaining shoppers and visitors over the four day period, younger families and tots – between the ages of two and five-years-old – can also enjoy amazing drama, juggling, and arts and crafts workshops.

The programme includes events like a juggling workshop at 1:30pm on Monday, July 3, on Lincoln High Street, and free drama workshops at 1pm and 1:30pm on Tuesday, July 4, in St Mark’s Square – run by Back Garden Theatre.

Youngsters can design their very own Lincoln Knight at the Waterside Shopping Centre on Wednesday July, during free arts and crafts workshops.

On the final day, July 6, there will be fantastic school performances rounded off by further drama workshops at 11:30am and 12 noon, with balloon-making workshops throughout the afternoon.

Whilst the fun and games around Lincoln work their magic, families are also encouraged to enjoy the vast range of other activities the city has to offer, such as the fabulous Lincoln Knights’ Trail, the Knights’ Education Trail (with over 40 half-sized knights), and the wonderful Battles and Dynasties Exhibition at The Collection.

The bags of fun only gets bigger, too, with the Domesday Book, Magna Carta, and the Charter of the Forest on view in the Castle. It’s all perfectly timed to make sure the entire family has a great time in the, hopefully, lovely weather.

Jess Wickham, Lincoln BIG Events and Marketing Assistant said: “We are looking to welcoming more people than ever to enjoy everything that the festival features and all the other wonderful attractions currently on offer – including the Lincoln Knights’ Trail which gives young people the chance to complete a quest and claim a badge, certificate and a 1217 Battle of Lincoln book voucher.”
