The Lincoln Bailgate Busking Festival is set for a return this summer as the people of Lincoln prepare for a day of acoustic music.

Music will commence in the Cathedral Quarter at 11am on Saturday, July 8 and will run until 4:30pm for the 17th year of the festival.

The free event will showcase a number of the city’s buskers across a variety of ages in the Bailgate and has been organised by local busker Steve Jackson and Lincoln BIG.

Organiser Steve told The Lincolnite: “There’s been no shortage of people wanting to take part in the event and it’s trying to encourage more people to try busking.

“I think that Castle square is one of the most picturesque locations to busk, especially when the sun is out.

“Busking is not all about being the most talented musician but it’s about capturing the passing audience with something unusual that will make people stop and watch.”
