Town policing teams in the North Hykeham area have issued a warning to vehicle owners after a spike in thefts from cars in recent weeks.

North Hykeham PCSO Julie Clark put out an alert to residents that teams have seen an increase in thefts from motor vehicles.

Thefts have recently been reported on Wetherby Crescent, Millmoor Way, Londinium Way and Tiber Road.

The local policing team said: “If you have seen or heard of anything suspicious regarding these crimes please phone 101.

“If you have a work van, please remove all tools if possible or back the van up to a wall or garage to restrict people trying to gain entry.

“Do not leave valuables on show, so temptation isn’t there.

“Please try and help yourself not to become a victim of crime, make sure all your property is locked and secure. Don’t make theft an easy job.”
