A group of travellers have pitched up council-owned land in Spalding.

Photos emerged on social media on the morning of June 19, warning of potential travellers on King’s Road in the south Lincolnshire town.

This is now the third time travellers have parked up in the county in the last week, having arrived in Gainsborough and Lincoln.

A spokesperson for South Holland District Council said: “We can confirm that a number of travellers have set up camp on council-owned land in King’s Road, Spalding.

“Our understanding is that the travellers intend to move on within three days.

“We have provided the travellers with bin bags which will be collected daily.

“We will also be closely monitoring the situation and will take further action if appropriate.”
