Firefighters were called to two separate crashes inside one hour in Lincolnshire yesterday evening, following persistent heavy rain in the county.

Crews first released a person from a car which crashed into a lamp post on Sleaford Road in Thorpe Tilney at 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 11.

One casualty was self-released by the time emergency services arrived, with crews from Woodhall Spa, Sleaford and Lincoln releasing the other person by using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Further south in the county, firefighters from Grantham and Corby Glen attended a crash on Ingoldsby Road in Bitchfield.

Crews again used hydraulic gear to release one person from the crash at just after 7pm.
