Residents have jumped to the defence of the drivers of a BMW and Audi caught taking up two spaces in the Aldi car park in Gainsborough.

The pictures were taken and sent anonymously to the Idiot Drivers in Lincolnshire and the UK Facebook page.

Instead of criticising the parking, commenters have praised them for looking after their vehicles, adding that some car parking spaces are too small.

Ash Webb said: “These are two expensive cars that don’t need an extra crease in the door from stupid and inconsiderate drivers!”

Samantha Boulton added: “Why would you not park over two bays when you pay good money for a car trying to park it in a spot big enough for a Smart car?”

Amy Cunningham simply said: “Good on them.”
