‘Pink army’ predicted to raise £120k from Lincoln Race for Life event

A ‘pink army’ of fundraisers raised around £120,000 at Lincolnshire Showground over the weekend for the 2017 Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Runners took on 5k and 10k routes around the Showground in pink garments, including tutus and wigs.

A Pretty Muddy event also took place over the weekend.

Around 1,472 women took part in the Pretty Muddy event on July 15, with 675 women taking part in the 5k and 10k on July 16.

Harry Hardiker, Area Event Manager for Cancer Research UK told The Lincolnite: “We’re hoping to raise around £120,000 from the weekend’s events.

“It was a fantastic weekend of events with everyone uniting to help beat cancer sooner.”
