Police are appealing for witnesses and information after offenders used a pick-up-truck to rip an ATM machine from the wall of a Lincolnshire Co-op store.

The incident happened at around 4am on the morning of Tuesday, August 1 at the Co-op on West Street, Crowland.

It is believed that three people were involved in the attempted theft.

Police confirmed that the raiders failed in their attempt to make off with the machine and investigations are ongoing to trace offenders and vehicles.

Significant damage was caused to the shop frontage as a result and Lincolnshire Co-op is assisting police with enquiries.

The shop will be closed for some time until repairs can be carried out.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything and who has not already spoken to police.
