Local artists and designers to showcase work at new Lincoln store

The store hopes to open next month.

A new store allowing local artists to rent space and showcase their products is set to open in Lincoln next month.

The Beehive on St Martin’s Square at the top of Lincoln High Street, will boast two units that will be used for a variety of purposes with a planned opening date of September 2.

One unit will be the main shop that will sell gifts and the other will be a pop-up shop that small businesses can rent out for a limited period to display their products.

Workshops on arts and crafts will also in the store which allows companies to rent shelf space and sell their products.

The Beehive is set to open on September 2

Owner of The Beehive, Joanna Townell told The Lincolnite: “I know how difficult it is for a small business to set up shop so I wanted to offer others the chance of experiencing it without all the problems.”

“I wanted to offer this sort of thing as nobody else in Lincoln really offers this.”

Joanna previously made and sold jewellery online, while also running workshops at Ruddocks and said that “there will always be something new here at The Beehive.”

“I think a lot of crafters dream of having their own bricks and mortar shop. It was certainly a dream of mine!

“It’s taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice to finally get to this point and I want to share it with other crafters, artists and small businesses so they too can experience it.”
