Crowdfunding appeal launched to pay for funeral of Sonny Kiss who died in A180 crash

Witnesses to the crash should call police.

Friends of a young dad killed in a three-vehicle crash on the A180 earlier this week are aiming to raise £2,000 to pay for his funeral.

Cleethorpes security guard Sonny Kiss, 24, died in the crash on the eastbound carriageway near Barnetby Top shortly after 5.30am on Monday, September 4.

Humberside Police said that the Nissan Micra he was driving collided with a green tipper truck and a Vauxhall Astra.

A number of tributes were left on Sonny’s Facebook page following his tragic death.

Now, Mandalyn Nolan has set up a crowdfunding page to pay for his funeral costs.

She posted: “As a close family friend, I think by doing this it will take some pressure off the family.

“Sonny was very well known so please I’m asking you all just give a little.

“Any money left over will be given to his beautiful daughter.”

By Friday morning, over £650 had been donated, with many messages of support left for Sonny’s family.

Soph Sutherland said: “Such a big loss in Grimsby, Sonny was so polite and just projected his happy go lucky attitude onto everyone!”

Lauren Middleton said: “Sonny was a massive part of my childhood, playing at Sidney Park and going to the Aqua discos on Friday nights.

“Always been such a good lad and grew into an amazing guy.”

Steve Newsome added: “Didn’t know the kid but he looked like a really good bloke that will be sadly missed.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log 70 of September 4.
