Four cyclists seriously injured in A15 crash south of Lincoln

A man has been arrested.

Four cyclists have been seriously injured in a crash with a car in the early hours of this morning on the A15 near Ashby De La Launde.

The cyclists were part of a large organised bike ride travelling to Sleaford when they collided with a Volkswagen Scirocco at 2.25am on Sunday, September 10.

A 29-year-old local man was arrested by police and remains in custody.

People travelling to RAF Scampton for the airshow should be aware of potentially increased traffic.

Part of the A15 remains closed with diversions in place.

The road is not expected to reopen before lunchtime.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “The event involved riders from across the UK and we cannot release further information about the injured cyclists until all relatives have been informed.

“Any witnesses who have not already spoken with officers are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 54 of September 10.
