‘Murdered’ man died after being assaulted in Boston, with seven men still in police custody

The post mortem confirmed that the man died as a result of being assaulted.

Seven men remain in custody as part of a murder investigation into the death of a man assaulted in Boston at the weekend.

As previously reported, officers were called to Pen Street at around 4.30pm on Saturday, September 23, finding a man seriously injured.

The man was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital but detectives later confirmed he died from his injuries on Sunday morning.

Lincolnshire Police arrested seven men following the incident.

Warrants were requested to detain the men for a further period on Monday, September 25, with Lincoln Magistrates’ Court granting the extension.

Detective Chief Inspector Diane Coulson, from the Major Crime Unit, said: “The post mortem has been completed and we know the victim died as a result of being assaulted.

“We continue to investigate and our team are working extremely hard to determine the circumstances of the victim’s death.

“We are speaking with the victims’ family and friends and have deployed a family liaison officers to help with our investigation.

“I appeal for anyone who has information or think they may be able to help with our enquiry to speak to us.”
