Police investigating the sexual assault of a woman on Lincoln High Street have released an image of a man they’re looking to speak to.

As reported previously, a woman in her 20s was near to The Works just after 3am on Monday, August 28 when she was approached by a stranger.

Police said he spoke to her and then sexually assaulted her.

The attack happened outside The Works on Lincoln High Street in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.

A spokesperson said: “She managed to escape but he was persistent and tried to assault her again.

“This happened at around 3.10am. It is believed the offender may have then harassed other women in the area.

“Two men came to the victim’s assistance and we need them to get in touch with us.

“They told the victim they were from Newark.

“We are also interested in hearing from any women who may have been harassed by the same man.”

Police released an image of a man matching the description of the suspect.

The suspect is described as black, in his mid 30s, of a slim build, 6ft tall with short black hair, a short beard and a moustache.

He was wearing a black and red checked shirt.

Police released an image of a man matching the description of the suspect on Monday, September 4 as investigations into the incident continued.
