Results: Stage 3 of Tour of Britain in North Lincolnshire

A memorable day for Lincolnshire.

Thousands of cycling enthusiasts have braved the rainy weather to watch Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain in North Lincolnshire.

Spectators lined the roads across the region on Tuesday, September 5, with the 178 km race beginning at Normanby Hall Country Park and ending on the A18 Kingsway in Scunthorpe.

For those who preferred to watch the action unfold at home, ITV4 broadcasted the stage live from start to finish.

Elite-level cyclists carved their way through the countryside, taking in villages such as Crowle, Epworth, Messingham, Kirton in Lindsey over the four hour race.

The race was won by Australian Caleb Ewan of the Orica Scott team, pipping Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen of Dimension Data on the line.

Rounding off the podium was Alexander Kristoff of Katusha Alpecin.

The next stage of the tour moves across to neighbouring Nottinghamshire, with competitors cycling on a route from Mansfield to Newark.
