Gainsborough singer through to next X Factor stage after Ed Sheeran inspired audition

They will be performing on the show this weekend.

A Lincolnshire man has made it through to the Six Chair Challenge on this year’s series of the X Factor.

Jack Remington, 22, who went to school in Gainsborough before moving to London, is part of group Jack and Joel on the hit ITV show.

The duo made it through Boot Camp, however were not aired on Saturday’s show (October 7), and will now take part in the Six Chair Challenge next weekend (October 14 and 15).

Jack and Joel wowed the judges in their first audition after they did a mash up of songs off Ed Sheeran’s album ÷ (divide), with the audition being viewed almost two million times on YouTube.

Viewers saw this weekend that Simon Cowell will be mentoring the groups for the rest of the competition, the category Jack and Joel will be in, and he will decide whether the duo will gain a ‘chair’ which will take them through to judges’ houses, one round away from the live shows.

Jack and Joel will be singing in front of 5,000 at Wembley Arena on either Saturday’s or Sunday’s show.
