Lincolnshire singer’s double act through to next round of X Factor live shows

The duo made it into the last 16 of the competition and survived this weekend’s public vote.

A Lincolnshire singer and his double act partner have made it through to the next round of X Factor live shows after they were saved by the public.

Jack Remington, 22, from Gainsborough, one half of duo Jack & Joel, was originally sent home from the competition after failing to impress mentor Simon Cowell, however was voted back in as the groups’ category Wildcard, which was announced on Saturday’s show (October 29).

Jack & Joel beat girlbands Lemonade and New Girl Bank in the vote and will now face the public vote every weekend vying for a place in the X Factor final in December.

The duo performed last night (October 30) and made it through to next week’s live show after impressing with a rendition of Dua Lipa’s New Rules.

Jack went to Queen Elizabeth’s High School in Gainsborough before going on to Oxford University where he met bandmate Joel Fishel, 22.
