Former Louth windmill transformed into quirky four bed home – and it’s for sale

Could you live here?

A former windmill on the outskirts of Louth has been transformed into this quirky four-bed property – and it could be yours for just £425,000!

The mill itself was built in 1847 and is situated in Legbourne, just two miles away from Louth.

Since it stopped milling flour, the grade two listed windmill has been fully renovated and now includes five floors.

It now boasts a luxury, but very traditional interior and has been kept as original as deemed possible for a full home conversion.

All the mill tower floors have been replaced and the mill cap has been rebuilt.

The building now includes:

  • Four bedrooms
  • Two bathrooms
  • Two reception rooms
  • Kitchen/diner
  • Private garden
  • Off street parking

On the first floor, there is also a wrap-around balcony that was originally used to pull the ropes to turn the windmill sales in and out of the wind.

The whole balcony has been renovated with bolted double plank boards and all the metal work has been restored and repainted in its original black.
