Lincoln City conceded two second-half goals as Coventry City came from behind to win 2-1 at Sincil Bank.
Over 9,500 fans packed the ground to see Matt Rhead score his first goal since August before strikes from Jodi Jones and Duckens Nazon meant that The Imps fell to only their second home defeat of the season.
Josh Vickers produced a number of fine saves throughout the game, however it was the visitors who left Sincil Bank with the three points.
Lincoln started the first-half brightly and took the lead in the 28th minute when Alex Woodyard’s fantastic cross found Rhead whose left-footed effort beat Lee Burge.
Coventry then piled on the pressure and Vickers tipped over Liam Kelly’s shot late in the first-half, before producing another good save from Rod McDonald.
The visitors came out the blocks quickly in the second-half and Vickers was once again needed, producing a fine save from Nazon.
Coventry then grabbed an equaliser with a quick counter attack as Jones cut onto his left-foot before unleashing his effort past Vickers.
Matt Green then hit the bar for Lincoln after getting on the end of Neal Eardley’s free-kick.
Nazon then gave the Sky Blues the lead in the 71st minute when Vickers produced an excellent save by Jones, the Coventry man then hit the bar before Nazon tucked home his seventh goal of the season.
Lincoln pushed for an equaliser, however were unable to breakdown the league’s meanest defence for a second time.
The Imps will now travel to Colchester on Tuesday before hosting Port Vale on Saturday.
