A Christmas cinema will pop up under a bridge in Lincoln as part of a special community celebration this December.
The movie event will take place under Pelham Bridge on Sunday, December 17.
Members of the community will gather from 3.30pm for free creative activities, live music and story telling. Then at 4.30, guests will be treated to a family film of their choosing.
Throughout the event drinks will be served from the Route 14 double decker bus and So Kneady will be cooking up made-to-order pizzas from a converted Land Rover pizza oven.
The event follows the success of the Great Get Together: Under The Bridge, hosted by community group Compassionate Lincoln.
Organisers brought together people from across the city in Sincil Bank after the murder of MP Jo Cox.
The first under-the-bridge party took place in June.
Compassionate Lincoln Steering Group Member, Charlie Kemp said: “We loved seeing how much people enjoyed the Great Get Together Under The Bridge back in June and really wanted to do something to bring people together at Christmas time.
“The space under the bridge is generally really bleak but it actually lends itself perfectly to community events: outside but sheltered, and with the right lighting and decorations it is transformed.
“This will be a really unique, festive and community spirited event for local residents and people from across the city – we hope lots of people will wrap up warm and come and join us.”
Entry to the event is free. Some seating will be available on a first-come-first served basis, camping chairs etc. are welcome as well.
Simon Hollingworth, Steering Group Member added: “An outdoor cinema in December might sound bonkers but this is going to be something really special.
“Layer up, bring blankets, drink hot chocolate and sit back and watch a Christmas film with friends old and new!”
