Take a look at new Lidl store in Gainsborough

The store has created 20 new jobs.

Eager customers were queuing in the dark early this morning for the opening of the new Lidl store in Gainsborough.

The new store on Beaumont Street officially opened its doors for the first time to customers at 8am on Thursday, December 7, replacing the existing store on Ropery Road.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, Lidl offered customers the chance to sample some of its products.

The store includes an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing, customer toilets, baby changing and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.

The German discount supermarket chain has also created around 20 new jobs with the new store.

Chair of West Lindsey District Council Angela Lawrence told Lincolnshire Reporter at the opening: “I think the new store is fabulous, they have made a terrific job of it and it is in a great location.

“Lidl has become a really popular supermarket chain and it’s lovely that it has moved to a central location and gives us a nice car park.”
